The food connoisseur in me!

Some of my readers might have assumed that I am on a major dieting program, desperately trying to shed kilos. The truth – I don’t believe in starvation and I am least likely to be an anorexic or bulimic. In fact, I am an epicurean and I adore most of the cuisines. My principle is to have a nutritious meal – not more but not less (to lose weight or whatever) either. I love to indulge and pamper my taste buds with the most palatable of delicacies. Just for instance, yesterday I had dinner at an awesome Italian restaurant– Menotti. We ordered:

Starters:
Crab and spinach soup
Bruchette with bell pepper, zucchini and eggplant
Main Course:
Fettucini with grilled chicken breast cubes
Ravioli in cream and saffron sauce
Dessert:
Souffle with icecream
Drink:
No wine, just some fine coffee

My review:
Food – The food at Menotti was more authentic than all most of the other Italian restaurants I have tried so far. All the dishes we ordered, were simply mindblowing. The aroma and richness of the food was tantalising. Chefs at Menotti undoubtedly/visibly pay a lot of attention to details in preparation and presentation of the food.
Ambience – The ambience was classy an yet informal. The dim-lighting and candle lit tables make it ideal for a romantic rendezvous.
Service – The waiters were knowledgeable and made excellent recommendations. They served the food the right time and were attentive throughout.
Overall rating **** (4 stars out of 5)

Anyways, not digressing from the main point, being healthy/fit (and 'thin') is important but not at the cost of depriving yourself of great food like this.

I could not agree more with you. Ive seen just so many people who want to lose weight starting to 'eat lesser'. I always believe that 'eating the right things' should be the way to go.

Having a balance of good healthy meals with an occasional weekend indulgence works well for me.
