Love Thyself

How many of us love themselves? Don't we compare and judge ourselves sercretly all the time.
Self love is acceptence of yourself as who you are and what are your capabilities and limitations...unconditionally. Marilyn Innerfield has described it as "A celebration of self in all moments. Self love is an experience of being, in which you realise the perfection of who you are!"
Self love provides you with self respect, self esteem and confidence in yourself. It wards away the insecurities and makes one more trusting. But remember, self love is not narcissism or egoism.
Oscar Wilde had once said that to love one's self is the beginning of a life-long romance. People will still fear for the loss of what they have, unless they love themselves.

Its wonderful bit of insight into loving our own selves. I feel its a wonderful thing and everyone shudnt think twice before doing it! But then it makes me wonder, what is more important loving oneself or loving others? well, I believe these two things are not at odds with each other - so no real comparison can be made. But loving others can surely build a whole group of pple who love you back, which, in my opinion, is extremely fulfilling!

As you yourself put it Nikhil, there is hardly a comparison between the self love and loving others.
What I want to emphasise through this blog entry is that many of us expect so much from ourselves, that we tend to criticise ourselves when we dont do well. Or we try to benchmark ourselves against others. This is not correct because it leads to low self esteem and insecurity. We tend to measure ourselves with how many frineds we have or what are our material possession/achievements.Cant we just love ourselves for being who we are?
